His engineering career started immediately after graduation at the Leningrad Ship Valve Plant in February 1967, where he worked first as a process engineer in the mechanical assembly shop, and later headed the shop’s tool stock office.
Drafted for military service; served in a tank regiment as the deputy company commander for materiel (zampotech).
After completing his service, he returned to the Ship Valve Plant, where he took the job of a designer at the Chief Designer’s Department. His later positions were head of the plant’s tool management office and head of the cutting laboratory.

Release of yet another book, “The Golden Tea Set,” recounting the life of a garrison officer’s family from the post-World War II period through the early 1950s. The novel is full of descriptions of the era, everyday life, and travels across the country, from Moscow to its remote corners.
Boris Beylin published an initial concise edition of his book “Thanks To and Despite,” a retrospective of the author’s personal career path. The book was later expanded.
In the same year, he published the book “Hello, Gita!”, the love story of Boris’s parents told through their letters from the 1930s and 1940s, a subtle and sentimental work.
BIG Filter expanded into the global filter market after securing certifications from Volkswagen and General Motors. It signed contracts to supply its products to a number of major automotive assembly lines in Russia and later in Europe.
Directed the company’s growth and shaped its development strategy in Russia’s emerging market economy. The company introduced new production lines and adopted sought-after European manufacturing processes to stay ahead of the competition while imported vehicles and brands were flooding the empty market.
In 1994, owing to the participation of BIG Filter, the Russian Federation’s anthem was played and its flag raised for the first time at the Automechanika Frankfurt trade fair. Boris Beylin’s company became the debuting Russian brand at the world’s leading automotive exhibition.
Launched one of Leningrad’s first cooperatives for car repairs, and in 1988, a new cooperative which grew into the company
BIG Filter. Left the plant and went into private business, performing all types of car repairs, including welding and full-body painting.
